The best affordable gps in the market is garmen gps. My garmen C330 is accurate when it comes to streets & freeway driving. It cost only $135 during thank’s giving in Walmart. I would recommend this Garmin C330 to those people who want to buy gps. The audio was excellent compare to my Magellan 800 gps.

I’m not familiar with the rebooting issue, but updating the Tele Atlas maps might be an simple fix for your map troubles, are they up to date?

What is the process for this and does it cost anything?

There usually is an update cost for new maps. TomTom has a latest map guarantee, and I’ve heard cases of other manufacturers offering current maps for new devices that didn’t have current maps if you contact customer service. Tele Atlas’s main website has a Map Updates section under their “For Consumers” tab.

I now have the new GPS IFON and it has a gps built in along with Google maps. Glad to see this feature and probably will never buy another gps unit as long as I have a i fon.

I’m really about to inherit a hand-me-down iPhone as well so I’m looking forward to testing out all the GPS features of it. Google’s recent agreement with Tele Atlas makes it that much more appealing to own the iPhone with those GPS capabilities, but I’m not quite sold on it entirely replacing my standalone GPS

Only the newest 3g version of the I fon has gps and it is quicker if you use it sparingly it gets hot quick and slows woen as a result. I like to have stand alone gps b/c I have gotten use to using it for a speedometer I don’nt have to look down to the speedometer on what ever truck I am driving since I slip seat the speed meter is often located elsewhere or is darkened this way with mio I have it in the same place every time. This prevents roll overs having the speed showed easily.

One time I had to go from Baton Rouge when time counted I was able to do a trip plot in just 2 min by pecking in the address and took off. I didn’t take a trailer to Jersey so I could take any route the return trip I had hazardous materials and had to plot the trip a small closer. Ran the trip in record time legally b/c I was able to figure where to stop 1/2 way before I left. Customer was satisfied.
